There is no key to explain all the notations. Other notations indicate nationality, weather conditions and very rarely family names. This "census" was taken Oct. 4 to Nov. 7, 1793. About one-third of the volume has since been reused as a scrapbook, and its pages covered with unrelated newspaper articles, mostly poems, circa 1838. | ||
