Preserver: Fancier with inward points at the corners (after 1858). Mat: Oval with matte finish and ornate (late 1850s). Case: Paper-covered wood-frame embossed with a geometric design front and back, with gilded edge pattern on both exterior and interior, with red velvet pinchpad, and red cushion embossed with a floral design (1850-60s). |
