Existing and available documents in sources in many languages have been consulted, as can be seen in Bibliography at the end of the book. This is the first time there is an English-language version of the story of the Macedonian Jews. This book will be of interest not only to the descendants of Macedonian Jews who live in the United States and in other English-speaking countries who are looking for information on their ancestry, but will also be welcomed by a wider audience. Tide and Wreck is dedicated to the Jews of ex-Yugoslavia, especially to those who lived in Macedonia for centuries until their tragic end in the Holocaust.
