The "tragedy of Amboyna", mentioned in the title, refers to the execution of certain Englishmen by the Dutch authorities on the island of Amboyna in the Molucca group in the year 1622. In the mind of the writer of the present pamphlet the occurrence at Amboyna in 1622 and the supposed plot against New England in 1653 were associated as connected instances of Dutch cruelty.
