Summary: Depicts activities and structures related to Wanamaker's Department Store. Contains interior and exterior views. Shows goods on display in the great hall and in a variety of departments, highlighting clothing, flowers, and books. Documents the installation of the founder's bell, the opening of the radio department, and ribbon cutting ceremonies. Illustrates murals and statuary at the store, most notably the eagle. Oversize includes the William Penn statue in basement of store. Portrays crowds of shoppers, especially during the Christmas season. Also depicts store Christmas decorations, the light show, and carolers. Other events include Memorial Day ceremonies and defense drives. There are many images of the cadet corps marching in parades. Also includes views of delivery trucks and a model home. Of note are portraits of John Wanamaker and photographs of him lying in state.
