Summary: Illustrates the evolution of Marine Corps uniforms and helmets with images of models, reproductions of graphics, and portraits of military personnel. Portrays Pennsylvania residents on maneuvers at training camps and stationed in foreign locations, particularly in the South Pacific. Shows maneuvers being practiced in and near the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Portrays men and women enlisting in the Marines and leaving for training camps. Many images depict women in training at the First Sargeant's School and residing in the barracks established at the Benjamin Franklin Hotel. Includes scenes of firearms instruction, driver's education, and training in using gas masks. contains views taken during an Army-Navy "E" award presentation at the Supply Depot, and an anniversary cake honoring the 170th year of the Marines. Documents the National Convention of the Marine Corps League in Atlantic City, N.J. Depicts parades, maneuvers on the beach, and portraits of generals.
