Summary: Pedro Supelana was born in the Philippines in 1929. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1964 and became a U.S. citizen in 1964. In 1967 he moved to Philadelphia, where he worked as an advertising manager. Supelana held leadership positions in a number of Filipino-American and Asian-American community organizations in Philadelphia and elsewhere, and supported national efforts to win Filipino veterans equal rights to benefits and the right to naturalize as U.S. citizens. The collection encompasses papers related to community organizations, veterans organizations, and a few personal records, including correspondence, minutes, flyers, printed materials, and other items.
