This artificial collection contains miscellaneous documents on the Washington family, 1675-1831, including legal papers, surveys, correspondence, loose accounts; George Washington letters, 1770-1799; Washington pocket diary, Jan. 1 - June 21, 1796, primarily weather records; Washington household journal, 1793-1797, while in Philadelphia; Martha Washington's "A Booke of Cookery" and "A Booke of Sweetmeats," a fair 17th century copy of an earlier manuscript; subscription book to aid William A. Washington, Owensboro, Ky., grand-nephew of George Washington, 1883; and facsimile of "Gen. George Washington's Account with the United States, from 1775 to 1783, as written by himself," American Publishing Company, 1857.
