This group of twelve legal documents (mostly deeds) and one brief of title volume all pertain to property at Spring Garden and Hamilton Streets, once the location of Smith, Kline & French Co., (now GlaxoSmithKline) which had purchased the land to build its headquarters. These paper predate this purchase and trace the ownership of the land throughout much of the 1800s. The brief of title volume once belonged to Henry Oram and J. Raymond Cleghorn. Other names mentioned in the deeds are Elias Stilwell, Thomas L. Potts, Albert E. Churchman, and William and Sarah Hess. |
