520 |a The American Color Print Society (ACPS) is a non-profit, invitational membership organization that was founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1939 for the purposes of exhibiting the color print. At the time of its founding, most galleries were exhibiting only black & white prints. Today, the ACPS accepts both color and black & white prints for display. Accession 86:31 - records, correspondence; 2 boxes; 1940-1984 Accession 2003.093 - Financial records of the Society, including 11 checkbooks and cash account books, 1950-1996 (with some gaps). There is also a reprint from an article in the Inquirer (2002) about an exhibit featuring the work of Society members.; 1 box; 1950-2002 Accession 2005.057 - These additions to the records of the American Color Print Society include bills and receipts, correspondence, meeting minutes, flyers, exhibition programs, clippings, serials, bank statements, mailing lists, and other items; 3 boxes, 1936-2001 (#2010.023) additions to this collection consist of exhibition mailers and postcards; membership pamphlets, lists, and directories; published articles and ACPS artists and exhibitions; business correspondence (letters and printed emails); CDs and slides; print-outs of copies of artists' works; financial records; and minutes. There are also several binders of papers collected by Idaherma Williams, ACPS president, Spet. 2001-May 2010, and numerous informational packets from various local galleries and art centers. The bulk of the papers date from the mid 1980s to the mid 2000s; but there are a few materials that fall outside this range. (#2010.024) additions to the collection include a binder of papers dating from 2009-2010 from Idaherma Williams's final meeting as ACPS president. There are agendas, correspondence, pamphlets, and papers on recent exhibitions.
