(ETSCO) was incorporated in June 1964 as a non-profit umbrella organization that "spoke for" and maintained communications with enigneering organizations and profesionals. The Engineers Club of Philadelphia was a member of ETSCO, as were dozens of other organizations, such as the Franklin Institute, the American Institute of Plant Engineers, the Engineering Alumni Society of the University of Pennsylvania, the Society of Women Engineers, and the Institute of Eletrical and Electronics Engineers. In 1978, ETSCO moved its headquarters and offices from the Franklin Institute to the Engineers' Club building at 1317 Spruce Street. From ETSCOGRAM, 1977: "ETSCO is fundamentally an extension of each of the member societies' organizations - our goal is to maintain opporutnites for [them] to expand [their] own efforts."
