Legal clients of Joseph Wallace include his son-in-law Dr. William C. McPherson, James Emerson, several Elders, John Rhoads, James Wilson (an absconding debtor), Mary Kelso, and others. A small amount of Joseph Wallace's papers relate to his business as secretary/treasurer of Pennsylvania. The collection is arranged in four series. The first contains the papers of Joseph Wallace and is subdivided by document type. Series two and three contain the papers of Wallace and his business partners. The second series, Wallace and Elder, contains the material of the two merchants and is also divided into sections according to type of material. The papers of Wallace and Graydon are the third series and contain various real estate documents. The final series contain miscellaneous items that do not relate to any of the previously mentioned series. These items are primarily miscellaneous bills and a small portion of the series relates to Wallace's ancestors. | ||
