Preserver: Fancier with inward points at the corners (after 1858). Mat: Unusually-shaped (ornate oval) with matte finish with embossed ornamentation. Case: Paper-covered wood-frame with embossed floral design, and gilded interior, with red velvet pinchpad, red velvet cushion embossed with rare floral and bird design (1850-60s). |
