Summary: Image of Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Thomas Dickson Finletter.  Finletter was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1862.  At an early age, Finletter was placed in the Protestant Episcopal Academy where he focused on college preparation.  He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1878 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and then pursued law school, but failed to graduate after passing the Bar exam.  Finletter’s accomplishments include being the Assistant City Solicitor (1884-1887), Assistant District Attorney (1888-1898), First Assistant to the District Attorney (1898-1901), and Common Pleas Court judge in Pennsylvania’s 1st District Court (1913-1932).
