Microfilm copies of three editions of Christoph Sauer's Pensylvanische Berichte. Sauer [sometimes spelled Sower] was the first to print a German-language newspaper in the United States. He operated out of his Germantown print shop in direct competition with Benjamin Franklin. Sauer was the first to bring fraktur type to North America and the first to print a German bible.

This digital record contains 9 images that depict three editions of a microfilm facsimile of Pennsylvanische Berichte from 1754. Berichte was published from 1746-1762 and all editions are available on microfilm at HSP. Berichte was filmed along with Sauer's earlier publication Hoch-Deutsch Pensylvanische Geschicht-Schreiber [1739-1746] which is also available on microfilm.
