A short account of Thomas Chalkley's residence near Frankford
Thomas Chalkley, a Quaker preacher of Virginia and Philadelphia (Pa.), built a residence in or near Frankford (Philadelphia, Pa.) originally prior to 1723; between 1776 and 1783 his son-in-law, Abel James, rebuilt and added to the house, henceforth known as Chalkley Hall.
