The first book covers the voyages of Verrazano, Laudonnière, Ribaut, de Gourgues, etc.; the second book, the expedition of Villegagnon to Brazil; the third, Cartier's voyages; the fourth and fifth, those of de Monts, Poutrincourt, Champlain, etc.; the sixth contains a description of the natives.
