Fred Rubin's uncle, Herman "Sparky" Sorin played basketball for South Philadephia High School for Boys and for St. Joseph's College. The collection includes a photograph of the Thomas Jr. High School graduating Class of 1929, a program from a 1933 "May Hop" sponsored by the Beaumont Club (featuring many ads for local businesses), a 1937-38 championship patch from the South Philadelphia High basketball team, and two programs featuring St. Joseph's basketball games, one at Philadelphia Convention Hall (n.d.) and one at Madison Square Garden (1940). | ||
