Robert Simpson letterbook
Simpson was a Scottish emigrant to Philadelphia who apprenticed here to a printer. The letters, 1788-1796, are mostly to his father, who was a carpenter in Scotland, and concern passage to America, life as an apprentice printer, a publishing business venture, and his decision to return to Scotland....
