U.S. Frigate "United States" captures British Frigate "Macedonian," undated

During the War of 1812, the U.S.S. United States, under the command of Stephen Decatur, captured the H.M.S. Macedonian after their engagement on October 25, 1812, near Madeira.  She was the first British ship to be captured and brought into an American harbor.
