Preserver: Straight and embossed with simple pattern (after 1850). Mat: Nonpariel with matte finish (mid 1840s to mid 1850s). Case: Leather covered wood frame embossed with a geometric design on the front and back, with a rose red velvet pinchpad, and a rose red velvet cushion embossed with a floral design (ca. 1850). |
