Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Nonpariel with ornate matte finish (late 1850s onward). Case: Leather-covered wood frame half case embossed with a geometric design on the back, with an interior gilded edge trim, and a red velvet pinchpad (ca. 1850). |
