Summary: (1) Photograph depicts men and women, including Naval officers, approaching the U.S. Navy L-1.  L-Class blimps were training airships operated by the United States Navy during World War II.  U.S. Navy L-1 was delivered in April 1938 and operated from the Lakehurst Naval Air Station in Lakehurst, N.J.

(2) Aerial photograph of the German blimp Graf Zeppelin as it flies over a Lakehurst hangar before making a journey to New York City from New Jersey.  Graf Zeppelin was a passenger-carrying airship, which operated commercially from 1928-1937.  The airship made 590 flights covering more than a million miles before it was retired at a Frankfurt airport and deflated.
