Color Organ design scroll by Mary Hallock Greenewalt

The spectrum of vibrant colors dancing across this scroll represents an early study by Mary Hallock Greenewalt in her attempt to design a color organ. The instrument would project a sequence of colored lighting arranged for specific musical programs. Hallock patented her first design in 1920.
