Frederick Newhall letter to Thomas Newhall, March 28, 1865

One of a series of letters from Frederick Cushman Newhall (1840-1898) to his father, Thomas Albert Newhall, in 1865.  Frederick, born in Philadelphia, served during the Civil War as a lieutenant colonel in the United States Army, 6th Pennsylvania Cavalry, with Major General Philip H. Sheridan.
