description This digital record contains sixteen images that depict 8 photographs and 2 stereographs of the Fairmount Water Works and Spring Garden Water Works held in box 45 (small series) of the Boies Penrose pictorial Philadelphia collection [V60], folder 3. The two stereographs [1 & 5] were created by John Cremer of 18 S. 8th Street and are undated. Three of the photographs are labeled are being photographed by Franklin D. Edmunds [2, 3, & 8]. Edmunds photographs of the Fairmount Water Works are both dated 1907, his photograph of the Spring Garden Water Works is dated 1898. Philip B. Wallace was the photographer for one photograph of the Fairmount Water Works labeled 1916, which may be a date of donation rather than the original date of the photograph. The other four photographs are undated and unattributed.<br /> <br /> Folder 3 is labeled as, &quot;Wissahickon. &nbsp;Water Works. Valley Forge. Wharves.,&quot; and contains additional photographs which are currently undigitized.
