Summary: This online record contains one image of a watercolor painting of an unknown church altar, painted by Stephen J. Sroba (1919-1995). Sroba was born in Philadelphia and graduated from art school in Pittsburgh. He worked as a commercial artist with AEL industries in Montgomeryville, PA and General Electric's Aerospace division in King of Prussia, PA. He is also known for painting church murals. Sroba was a WWII veteran, devout Catholic, and a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols. His obituary states that his parents met in the medical tent of a sokol competition. He passed at the age of 76 on March 9, 1999. His mass of Christian burial was said at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, and he was buried at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Middletown Township.
